Burn

Porcelain molded into nearly 100 separate pieces, some glazed, all fired and painted with oxidizing paints and powdered pigments, then burned or scorched and coated with a polymer medium mixed with wood ash.

The pieces are scattered randomly to mimic the forest floor following a devastating wildfire.

Reliquary (below)

Porcelain molded into a partial tree trunk, a twig, leaf and bone, fired and painted with oxidizing paints and powdered pigments, then burned or scorched and coated with a polymer medium mixed with wood ash.

This piece is housed in a custom made glass case and couched in feathers to acknowledge the loss of habitat for bird species.
